DRXC GROOMING REPORT – January 20

With the exception of B Loop, all DRXC trails were groomed for skate and classic skiing last night. Trail conditions are good/excellent. There are a few roots exposed on C Loop due to the thin snow base that we currently have.

B Loop continues to be ungroomed, but available for a back country experience.

DRXC Grooming Report for Saturday January 13

Loops K and short M were groomed this morning for classic and skate skiing. Additional grooming was not performed because of the warm temperatures forecasted. The ungroomed DRXC trails are available today for skiers as a “back country” experience.

All of the DRXC loops will be groomed Sunday morning. A grooming update will be issued when completed.

DRXC GROOMING REPORT – January 11

This morning we attempted to perform grooming, but the rain at the end of the snowfall we had left a problematic crust. All that we were able to accomplish in those conditions was packing the snow and partially breaking up the crust. We were not able to set any track, but there is a level bed now on D, R X, K (hydro lines), M, S and H. We are in a very good position now to create good ski conditions AFTER THE NEXT SNOWFALL. Although up to 25 cm of snow is forecasted for Friday night and into Saturday, the warm temperatures associated with this storm will prevent us from grooming until Sunday morning.

Current conditions are poor. With weather luck, we will have decent trail conditions after Sunday morning grooming.

More waiting is advised …

GROOMING REPORT – Saturday March 11

Ski loops R, X, C were groomed last night for classic skiing. In the absence of new snow, the old hard packed snow was recycled to bury the forest debris that was collecting in the track. The refurbished track is decent. X loop has a short section of soiled snow from another deer that was killed by wolves/coyotes yesterday.

Loop K under the power lines was regroomed for skate and classic skiing. Conditions on K are GOOD.

All other loops were regroomed several days ago for skate and classic skiing, recycling old snow. Trail sections exposed to direct sunlight have become icy, but the shaded section of the trails remain in decent condition. Be cautious of fast decents on the hills on M, S, B and H.
