D, R, X, C, M (including the extension), S-H link and K were fully groomed today. S is open to the top along with the first half of H – This part is ski-able.
Please note that the rest of S and H is NOT fully groomed; we have flattened some snow with the snowmobiles only. It is still very rough with frequent open patches where there is running water. There are also big rocks just sub-surface. We have placed caution signs on the trail to warn skiers that the back half of S is not open. There has been no grooming on B yet either. These trails will be opened as conditions allow.
R, X and D were ‘groomed’ this afternoon.
This afternoon, K (aka the Hydro line) and little M were groomed for skating. The track in these areas was destroyed but will make a return as the groomers attempt to reclaim our trails. Skiing is marginal but decent.
Miami Beach has excellent skimboarding right now – Superb conditions for the butterfly on low-lying sections of M. Watch for bears coming out of hibernation.
C has been added to the list of classic trails open that also includes D, R, X and M. Only one tree had to be removed from across the trail on C – a new one since yesterday, I believe. If you see any downed trees, please report them to the executive via the link on the main site. All open trails have a new classic track on them as of today. Future priorities include widening M for the skaters and opening the outer loops (aka S, H and B).
Note: The apparent track on S only goes to ‘The Top’ and is the result of a rescue mission for an injured skier. S is not yet fully open.
