Volunteers

DRXC literally could not function without its volunteers. Please consider donating some of your time to helping out with one or more of the following activities:

Trail Clearing

Help clear existing trails of deadfall and new growth. Most of this work is done in October and November in preparation for the new ski season.   Call Stuart Craig at 613-584-3171.

Trail Improvements

Help upgrade existing trails by cutting and laying corduroy, spreading fill (wood chips, sand, pit run), improving drainage, replacing bridges and so on. This work is also done mostly in the fall. Call Helena Rummens at 613-584-4321.

Grooming

Under the direction of the Chief Groomer, help groom and track set the trails using club snowmobiles and grooming equipment. Snowmobile experience would be an asset. Call Marc Audet at 613-281-4591.

Chalet Open/Close

During the ski season a roster of 14 volunteers open the chalet in the morning, start the wood stove, and lock up at the end of the day (i.e. once every 2 weeks).  Call Doug Killey at 613-584-2513.

Jackrabbit leader/helper

Get out on the trails and help teach Jackrabbits on Saturday afternoons from January to March. No experience is necessary and training is available. Call Kevin McDonald at 613-584-1287.

Jackrabbit refreshments

Help provide warm drinks and snacks after Jackrabbit sessions. Call Kathryn Chiasson at 613-584-4255.

Adult Instruction

Help provide instruction in the classic (diagonal stride) technique to beginner adults with little or no experience.    Call Tom Holden at 613-584-2819.

Silver Spoon

Many volunteer positions are available both indoors and outdoors for the Silver Spoon event. Call Diane Davis at 613-584-3033.

Executive and Committees

Help set the direction of the club and make things happen. Call Bob Donders at 613-584-4321.
